Why Should I Commute Green?

SAVE MONEY. Besides winning our prize, there are many ways in which a green commute can benefit you. Driving alone to work can cost commuters an average of $7,424 a year. By carpooling just twice a week, that cost is reduced to $5,938. If you carpool every day, your commute costs drop to just $3,712 a year. Imagine what you can do with all that extra cash!

HEALTHY CHOICE. Aside from saving money, active commuting options, like walking or biking, can also improve your health. Regular exercise has many well-known benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease and obesity, and can also reduce stress levels.

GET MORE TIME. Taking public transit is another great way to commute green. Avoid traffic jams and use your commute time YOUR way. You could read, listen to music, or get a head start on the days work by taking any of the region’s many public transit options.
