There are additional benefits for those that choose a "green" commute to and from work.

  • Federal Tax Benefits

    The Commuter Choice federal tax benefits program allows you to designate up to $255 per month of pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to be used towards commuting expenses. This includes transit passes, vanpool fares or parking fees.


    If you’re a bicycle commuter, you may use up to $20 per month for your bicycle commuting costs. Some employers choose to subsidize the cost of transit, vanpool, bicycling and/or parking costs. Either way, it’s a win-win since this program allows the employee to save on sales taxes and the employer to save on payroll taxes.

  • NVTMA Incentive Program

    The Neponset Valley TMA’s incentive program is for commuters who are dedicated to making shared commuting a habit.
